The Chance2Change project aims to develop a theory-based tailored digital intervention to increase condom use for users of internet chlamydia self-testing websites in order to prevent further sexually transmitted infections (STI’s).
Young people are disproportionately affected by STIs and the best way to avoid them is to use a condom, however young people report inconsistent use. A missed opportunity to intervene to increase condom use is when they access self-testing kits for chlamydia via the internet, which approximately 130,000 young people do each year. The digital intervention will be embedded within the existing user-pathway of the chlamydia self-testing website freetest.me.
